being a auto technician

so this one might be longer than i anticipated. going through school instructors and scouters always promise youll make good money like 60000 a year out of school and this is possible but the world we live in is just different and experience is the key and not going to lie i have put two years of time at the bottom and just now am i starting to rise up but the money is not what was grilled into my head. this post isnt about swaying people to not become auto mechanics or technicians just want to tell people the truth about how it might start out. number one youll have to try hard to figure stuff out in school youll think you know everything and you do know a lot but back to that real world experience thing is i have learned so much just on the job and listening to the mentor technicians on how to succeed in this field. but being an auto technician in a flat rate situation is some long nights and some slow times. you have to really love cars and be good and ready for what your doing and i hear it all the time,, techs saying "oh i work on cars all day i dont even want to touch them when i get home" and its true you dull your passion and get discouraged on projects because you work hard for what your doing. and in some situations it makes you want to quit and rethink your life on school and other things. so my advice is to just truly know what your passions are and focus on them. as for me i love cars and working with my hands i work full time at a dealership and to be completely honest i love helping people. there are millions of people that have no idea whats wrong or that something is even really wrong with their car that i love fixing it and putting them at ease and for me that satisfaction is like nothing else and in my eyes is a quality you will need to be in this field. the money will come as long as your passion doesn't quit and you will love what you do. like for me i struggled because i love computers and i was rethinking my career choice and computers was just a hobby which is something you will need to get away from the annoyances of your job and everyone needs that. to answer a lt of peoples questions is truly my goal but my rambling is difficult. a lot of you ask me do i enjoy it and that answer is yes so much and they're are some days that i just want to go home doing nothing but that's the long 14 hour day and its just natural. another question is how much money to expect when your out of school. this from my experience is just rally from 30000 to 35000 if not less. just saying i worked at about 28000 my first year doing oil changes and side work just to get by . so this experience is unique but i have persevered through it to get where i am and that is all that mattered to me because my life is cars its all i tink about i research problems in my spare time lol which to my girl is crazy i just love to know what im going into with every situation but that's me. third thing is true with any job is your going to have a boss that expects too much of you and makes promises that are to big for him to cash and sometimes the heat goes on you for the job , this has happened to me more times to me than i can count but i just roll it off because if you put effort into your job and show your employer your there for the customer you will become irreplaceable. so i hope this was informative and i will do more like this if interested just wanted to give a little insight thanks for viewing and comment with any questions if you would like and you can always check out joemakinmoney on Facebook and YouTube
