SO EARLIER THIS WEEK I WAS WORKING ON A CAR AND WHEN IT WAS ALL BACK TOGETHER THE INEVITABLY A COOLANT HARD PIPE WAS CRACKED AND LEAKING COOLANT WHEN BLEEDING THE COOLANT SYSTEM .
so i decided to go to the junkyard to find the part i needed since the customer needed it and the new part was 89.99. im sceptical as the next person on getting junkyard parts but when i pull them myself and can see the condition of the car i like it more, sometimes it hard work but other times its a big pay off.
with this particular junkyard that i went to the entrance fee was $2 and when i found the car with the correct coolant pipe it was an easy $2.17 for the part saving about 80 dollars after you account for time and gasoline to drive there.
so basically my point is pull it yourself junkyards are a great place to score some good parts and find those little tidbits that you normally cost a ridiculousy amount for the small part you are ordering that should be 5 cents.
also if you ever lose bolts or other things during your projects it is a nice place to get them
thank you for reading and keep it running
JOE THE AUTO GUY
impact drivers and ratcheting wrenches make junkyard jobs quick like these but cheaper options are out there
