1999 to 2007 General Motors front wheel bearing hub replacement

hey guys posting a video on replacing the front wheel bearing hub on Gm trucks, this is relevant to all full size gm trucks including the Cadillac Escalade, GMC Yukon and Yukon XL , Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban as well as the Chevrolet silverado, GMC Sierra.
the write up is pretty simple


  1. Raise and support the vehicle. 
  2. Remove the tire and wheel assembly. 
  3. Remove the rotor. 
  4. Remove the wheel speed sensor and brake hose mounting bracket bolt from the steering knuckle.
  5. Disconnect the electrical connection for the wheel speed sensor. 
  6. remove the axle nut from the front drive halfshaft assembly. 
  7. Remove the hub and bearing assembly mounting bolts 



  1. Remove the hub and bearing assembly
Installation Procedure




  1. Clean all corrosion or contaminates from the steering knuckle bore and the hub and bearing assembly.
  2. Lubricate the steering knuckle bore with wheel bearing grease or the equivalent.
  3. Install the hub and bearing assembly.


  1. Install the hub and bearing assembly mounting bolts
    • Tighten the hub to knuckle bolts to 180 Nm (133 ft. lbs.) .

  1. Connect the electrical connection for the wheel speed sensor. Refer to Wheel 
  2. Install the wheel speed sensor and brake hose mounting bracket bolt to the steering knuckle.
    • Tighten the bolt to 12 Nm (106 inch lbs.) .

  2. Install the tire and wheel assembly. 
  3. Remove the safety stands.
  4. Lower the vehicle.
